Led by Dave Zittin, this is an exciting two-day trip exploring the Sierra Nevada.

Description

Location: Meet at Bassets Station (100 Gold Lake Rd, Sierra City, CA 96125)
 

Come explore one of the Sierra Nevada's summer birding jewels.

Day 1: Yuba Pass area provides the opportunity to see the Dusky Flycatcher, Hammond's Flycatcher, White-headed Woodpecker, Green-tailed Towhee, Evening Grosbeak, American Dipper, Nashville Warbler, MacGillivray's Warbler, Calliope Hummingbird  and more.

Day 2: The Sierra Valley forms the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Feather River where will will likely see Sage Thrasher, American Bittern, Yellow-headed Blackbirds, Swainson's Hawk, Horned Lark and more. If there is interest on Sunday afternoon, we can stop to look for Williamson's Sapsucker on the way to Truckee before heading home. 

 

Cost: $30/member, $50/non-member.
